Sit down children i have a story to tell of the little audi that just could not stay away from trouble. Back in January i bought my 98 audi a4 1.8tq. The car had 107 thousand miles on her but it had around 17,000 dollars in aftermarket parts. everything in the test drive went well and there was no check enginelight or anything. the guy told me of all the problems he knew of and they were only two dents in the fenders from it being too low when he got it. i talked him down from his 12000 asking price and bought it for 9500. Which i thought was a good deal at that point. Oh yeah and i bought it 4 hours away in virginia and i live in PA. So i go to get it inspected at a local garage and i get a disturbing call. my car would not pass inspection because of the following: no windshield washer nozzles. (and i didnt want to drill my cf hood) no license plate light. two bad control arms. and 3 of the 4 wheels were cracked (these wheels are brabus about 500 new... each) and all the rubber was bad because the camber was all out of line. so i pick up the car and do what i can to lessen the bill of my inspection by doing some of the work myself. I put nozzles under the hood that spray up onto the windsheild, replaced the light and bought velocity motoring rs4 reps. i then found a shop about 20 mins away that specializes in VAG. I took my car there to get inspected because i figured it would be more thorough and my check engine light did come on. I drop my car off and get a VERY sad call. My steering rack was bad (800 part). all my control arms were bad and my turbo didnt have a gasket. ok well they told me it would be about 2 grand in parts and labor. if thats not bad enough when they took of the turbo to put a new gasket they found out the housing was cracked. so they sent my turbo to get rebuilt and put it back on my car. this was like 6 weeks in to it being at their shop. now all they had to do was reset the codes to pass emissions. and during a test the car started smoking and the turbo was blowing out oil. the turbo shop fed up the rebuild and so they sent it back and got it done again. so finally after a little of two months i got it back. ran great everythings good. i get pulled over twice in one weekend for no reason. the first guy said my tires squeeled (while i was shifting from 2nd to third at 35 miles an hour) i told him it was my bov and he said "is that legal" i said yes. we argued and he let me off with a warning. the next day i get pulled over for going 15mph in a parking lot. and got a warning. the cop said it sounded like i was going alot faster than that. wtf. so i took off my bumper and got new fenders and took them both to get painted today. my bumper had a large scratch in it. two birds one stone. since it was only the bumper cover and the structure of the bumper was still there.. i am legally good. so i was on the highway today doing about 70 when i hit a rabbit. since my bumper wasnt on i didnt think it would really mess up much. but i pulled into taco bell and realized it somehow broke my powersteering lines.
does God hate me?
