    Hi guys,

Im about to buy new wheels for the summer and im really interested by the ASA AR1... what is you opinion about ASA in general. I have been told they are cheap wheels and easy to break, does anybody have experience with this brand ? My first choice of wheels was RS4 replicas (similar to celebration wheels) but now I don't know what model I should go with !

    You comments are really appreciated.

    Re: ASA wheels

I believe ASA is a BBS owned brand if I remember correctly. I have had them bend kinda easy on me before. Overall though, they kept up well and the paint lasted.

    Re: ASA wheels

    Scratch that....I was wrong.

" In 1990, ASA the new subsidiary of HANKOOK Tire Co., Ltd who was ranked No. 10 world wide in tire industry with 50 years of manufacturing experience started its quality alloy wheel business under technical cooperation agreement with BBS Germany, a world-renowned quality manufacturer.
Thanks to this agreement ASA was able to get the most modernized facility suggested by BBS Germany.
In March 1992, the company began production of alloy wheels at its newly built plant equipped with automated facilities and warehouses assuring the best quality and right delivery to customers all over the world. The quality standard was established by ASA's engineers to reach that of BBS.
In October 1994, ISO 9001 was awarded to ASA which certifies the best quality control, development, production and service system. It was renewed in 1997. QS 9000, the highest quality management standardin automobile industry originated by American big 3 car manufacturers was awarded to ASA in 1999. "

    Re: ASA wheels

Check out this link and scroll down to see what happens to ASA wheels in an accident. Just to give you an idea if you were to hit a bad pot hole. Either way, the wheels would be done for, but you get an idea of the strength of the rim. Just make sure whatever wheels you choose, to get aftermarket suspension. Peace!
