Just wondering what people think of these Cat-Backs. Can you describe the SOUND/ PERFORMANCE/ WIEGHT/ SIZE OF TIPS?

although youtube audio sucks, your best bet is to sit, watch, and listen. than make up your own mind.

I have the Milltek non-resonated on mine. Nice sound and very subtle in my opinion. I actually wouldn't mind it being a little louder. The 4" tips look great and fill up the cutouts in the bumper perfectly.

Can anyone with experience rank these exhausts from quiet --- loudest?

First off, my advice is try to narrow it down to 2, maybe 3 choices. There are so many great options that you can go crazy trying to decide. If you're considering Corsa, I am assuming you have a B7. In that case, tip size isn't as much of a consideration as it is w/ the B6. As for sound, if you want aggressive, you simply cannot go wrong with Fast Intentions or Labree. I just installed a new Labree catback and it is fantastic. Though I will be buying DPs b/c I want it to be louder. Corsa sounds good, too, but someone on here posted a vid of a Mustang w/ Flowmasters and it sounds just like the Corsa. That ruined it for me.

By most accounts, Milltek, AWE and APR tend to be quieter. AWE just posted a demo vid of their B7 resonated system and it sounded no different than stock. FI, Labree...louder. Stasis is another option for a B7. Very, very nice sound. Pretty aggressive based on the vids I have seen.

I want to get DP's with my exhaust, but I am just affraid of failing a smog test. Anyone know the protocol for that in Texas?

I too am trying to decide between a fullback APR and a Fullback AWE res...

If you look at the v8 dyno day thread in the vid you can compare 4-5 different setups with the same camera in the same position and they are under load which is very important as the sound changes.

Some have dps others don't, my s4 and the s5 do not have dps.

Stasis...i love it...i wanted to ONLY get a CB, no DPs, and this is perfect..I used to have a Milltek non-resonated on my B6 S4, before I put on APR DPs, and it was a just a little too quiet. The Stasis is perfect..Ive been wanting to put up a video, but haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully I can do it this weekend.

If you have a B6, then cross Corsa and Stasis off the list. B7 systems only.

For the B6, my vote is for Labree or FI. A very nice, deep sound. Beautiful tone, as well, very unique. Not a huge change in volume from inside the cabin, but people on the outside get a real show. They also come with 4" tips, which look the job and really fill out the valence perfectly.

Obviously, the Champion Magnaflow-based system is sick, and I considered this option. But I have yet to get a clear answer on how EXACTLY it is constructed. I have heard that there were different variations tested on the infamous Red S4 before reaching the final product. I wasn't going to risk trying a custom system and then not being happy with the sound. I wanted a known quantity.

There were several attempts to get it right, but I seriously doubt you want the system that was the final one in the video, it had no mufflers just an x-pipe, pipes and resonators. Your best bet is to contact someone who has one and may be willing to get some measurements for you. Other wise decide if you want angry loud = non-res, or refined bliss resonated. I like the Labree and FI but I would go with the original.

I have the package on my car and love the sound, the outlets fill the rear valance well and it appears to be a well built system.

Can't really tell if it makes any more power.

If your only planin on getting a catback, i would recommend a non-res system. custom or not

Labree has res and non-res. Can anyone comment on the sound difference. I have a feeling the res version is loud and the non-res is insane loud.

I just installed Labree Resonated catback 2 weeks ago. Below 2k rpm, a big rumble in the cabin. Barely noticeable difference in the higher RPMs. Slightly more growl than stock. Drone from 1600-1800rpm at low speeds and during deceleration. COMPLETELY different sound from the outside, though. Perfect low burble, a very unique, rich tone. Not raspy at all. People hear it, but definitely not crazy loud. Not many Labree vids on youtube, but it's bascially the same sound as an FI resonated system.

I like my AWE non res, it's not that loud, unless you want it to be. And the best part is it's modular, I could switch out the center section to resonated at various degrees to quiet it down if I wanted. The tips are beautiful.

As far as the smog test or emmisions, as long as the car isnt throwing any codes, you should be fine. In Maryland they dont even put new cars on the treadmill , they just hook up the OBDII and read.... I have AWE DP's and Neuspeed, and it doesnt throw any codes. It sounds nasty at WOT ! I like it .
