Just on the R8? Damn. I've never seen them offered as an option on any of the S or RS models to this date. I wonder when/if they will.

I love your H.S.T. quote by the way.

Re: zomg! $15k + for ceramic brakes

Audi has it as an option in RS 4 in other countries besides US, it's about $8k USD options. And I remembered someone here posted a website carrying both RS4 and R8 ceramic brakes kit for $8.7k and $11k respectively.

HAHA thanks, and as others have said its an option on the RS4 but was first offered, i believe on the Audi GmBH A8's as the S8 has ceramics stock.

Are you certain the US-spec S8 has stock ceramics? I do not believe it does. In fact, I'm certain it does not. The same with the RS4 here in the US--no ceramics. In Europe that may be a different case.

Re: zomg! $15k + for ceramic brakes

I know thats a whole lotta lettuce for a brake system. I contemplated and researched the S8 ceramics as a possibility on the A4 platform. Fact is: i drive like a granny so my brembos serve me nicely. If i owned a 993 or the like that would be a different story.

380x38mm is a pretty sexy rotor size, although I doubt that the caliper is a forged piece :(
