Long Overdue Update on my Avant & Big Thanks to Autobahn Exotics!

Well, there's been another Stage 3 Avant terrorizing other cars in SoCal these past few months. Due to some major stuff at work, I've been too busy to finish up some minor items and post. But, I had a chance to wash her today after driving her almost 1k miles this past weekend without a hiccup (knock on wood)...more importantly, the stage 3 powah is intoxicating!!!!

The new mods include: AWE Stage 3 kit, piggies, Vast Kevlar clutch, OEM resurfaced flywheel, 034 MM's, Brembo 6 pot/355 kit, Stasis rear brake kit, and AVIC D3 (with IPOD/BT/DVD mod). The TB and new gaskets were also done. I just got a new brake booster check valve, which was an experience I will not forget anytime soon (no brakes, horrible idle and a hissing sound...I thought I killed my car after escaping my own death). Only major things left are ER or AWE IC's and possibly Ecodes. And yes, a vacuum and wipe down of the navi screen.

Now, I have to thank Rich and Nick at Autobahn Exotics, especially poor Nick who was the misfortunate one that I corresponded with all the time and was pestered with status checks. AE ordered everything above (except the Brembos and flywheel) and installed everything, as well as did the TB job, all while really working with my schedule (including a few personal drop offs by Mr. Nick!). Also, the K04's in my car were originally intended for Rich at AE who selflessly gave them up for me. I also want to thank and highly recommend Mike at Vast, Jeremy at Matrix (didn't buy from him but he was very instrumental in my decisions), Jose at Eurotech for some help in the process and Agravic for the D3 install.

Thanks for the comments! I want ecodes, but they are so expensive I'd rather use the money for some ic's...anyone want to unload their AWE or ER's??? As for the tint comment, I got busted out here in my first B5 for dark tint. Given all the other potential violations, I'm still not sure if I want to add to the list. Besides, the clear windows showcase the baby seats better which makes it just a bit more of a sleeper

--Nogaro_PhiDelt: AudiSportB5S4 is correct...it is an Avic D3 unit. I really like the unit and the guy that installed it made sure to do so in a manner that avoided some issues experienced with the Bose system.

--ToMMyRsK04: I think the brakes are kind of overkill for my use, but I got a pretty good deal on them. Haven't had the chance to really try them yet, but pedal feel is great in regular driving. If all goes as planned, I'll be able to report how they handle the track in a few weeks One thing to definitely consider is wheel selection. There are very few wheels that will be able to clear these. My SL's barely clear and I think with a different offset (I have et32 rather than et35) I would have been forced to run a spacer. My CH's in 19's (et35) also cleared fwiw and hopefully CH's in 18's will clear as well.

That was indeed my wagon and I meant to include that certain person in the general reference to "AE." However, to make it a little less vague, "Mr. A," THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORK, SAGE ADVICE AND ATTN!!!" In a nutshell, all the parts came in before AE got their lift installed at their new location, so alternate arrangements were made to do the Stage 3 as soon as possible. It's actually kind of ironic since I traded my first B5 S4 there for a B7 S4 and I was back to pick up a transformed S4.

Thanks for the compliment BTW, I'm pretty sure I've seen your S4 on the 405. I dig the black wheels...she looks nice and aggressive

Do you get the statistic from AOA by any chance? I've never called and have always been curious. And don't hate, it's really not as impressive as it seems and the stupid shifter is apparently crooked. Also, there's a reason only the passenger side is shown...I've been forced to run one anthracite SL on the other side b/c my original black one cracked
