    faux dual exhaust

what do you guys think of this? i have these mufflers sitting in my garage.. but many muffler shops locally are milking me out of my funds because mufflesr wont fit, etc ,etc... so i plan to go another route with easier piping through my friend's cousin's shop.

    anyway, heres my idea:

    1x 4" 2.5 resonator (optional)
1x magnaflow 2.5in -> dual 2.25 out mounted where the stock resonator is and the tips are just piped out with tips of choice.

so... just 1 resonator and muffler in the middle of car, and 2tips rerouted. would i be expecting any negative effects? (more noise? any performance issues?)

this would save weight by not having an extra muffler

    NOTE: i have a FWD

You won't fit a muffler in the center of the car. It'll be around 1 inch off the ground unless you can U-channel it around the driveshaft like the stock resonator or the APR muffler.

What Magnaflow mufflers do you have that won't fit. Those seem to be the most popular mufflers on AZ and I plan on ordering a pair myself. I don't understand, how don't they fit?

    Re: faux dual exhaust

Is it the actual inlet of the muffler that the shops are complaing about? Since it is in the center and not offset?

Even so, that is not a problem....

i have my exhaust "kit" FS here. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=203770 this would be the same as having the more popular 14851 mufflers, but i like this tip better... and the mufflers are painted black with high temp stove paint.

yeah i was hoping for the same! your exhaust is sweet! i can't get any shops to do what i want though.. atleast without spending as much as just getting a popular exhaust kit.
