Lightbulb Stainless Wheel Guide Pin to replace factory plastic ones

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
OK. They tried starting a group buy for these but the company wanted over $30 shipped for one of these things. So I decided to make a few rather than just one for my self.

    The price is $15 shipped.

Paypal me at [email protected] and I will send you one out right away.

I have 38 left right now and am unsure if I will be making anymore. So get them while they're HOT!

    Any questions let me know.

    These have 14mm x 1.5 threads.
This size is used on all Audi, S and M class Mercedes, BMW X5, and VW. If you are unsure please check. Others such as BMW, Benz, Mini use 12mm rather than 14. So it should be pretty obvious what you have.

If you are on other forums please link them to this

This tool is a replacement for Audi's plastic wheel guide tool (check your toolcase in the trunk). You use it to guide and support the wheel and allso to keep the rotor aligned with the hub during wheel mount/dismount. It makes wheel mount/dismount a LOT easier on a B6 S4 - those 18" Avus rims with tires weigh around 60lbs each!

    hmmm
i would think that the metallic ones would scratch or mess up the clearcoat...

i thought they were plastic so they wouldnt scratch the rims...

Hmm...well mercedes uses aluminum ones. And I don't think these would scratch the wheels more than that or the lug bolts would.

so this thing screws into a lug spot and then you rest the rim on it to line it up? I havent taken the wheels off my car and I used to own an Accord and never heard of these so not quite sure how it works.

European cars don't have studs like all other cars do. So when you take the five bolts off that hold on the wheel it will just fall off. Rather than having the studs coming out of the hub as other cars do Audi and most other euro cars have holes where the Lug BOLTS rather than Lug NUTS go.

Go take your wheel off and you will see. It's easier to see than explain.

Or if anyone has a picture of the hub post it up! I'm sure there is one out there.

Thanks to CodeWhore there is now a link to this thread from the AW B6 S4 forum. After those of you that use audiworld recieve your tool please start threads in other AW forums and link them here. it would be appreciated. My S4 would appreciate it also ;0)

Just so you all know I am not a supplier or producer of products at all. I am just a fellow audi enthusiast that has a dad that is a machinist. It is always good to have connections. He works for a company and doesn't do outside work. I origionally just wanted him to make one for me until I saw all this interest. Right now he is able to take the metal stock I give him and put the machined ends on it as well as thread them on the lathe in his free time at work. Due to the fact that he does this part when he has time supply may run short or I may have to start selling them without the knurled grip on the end. Hopefully that won't happen but I will keep you guys updtated if I ever get low on stock.(currently I have plenty)

Thanks for all your interests. People should recieve their orders between friday and monday and hopefully report back that they are happy with them. Please email me if there are problems with any of the tools. I personally screwed each one into the hub on my a4 or s4 to ensure good threads.

Haha. Yeah it seems that I am there a lot with crazy schedules always changing. I work either 7-3, 3-11 or 11-7 and now people are leaving and not getting replaced but we still have to cover 21 shifts a week...24x7x365 so Its hectic sometimes.

I will just ship them to you unless you want to meet sometimes. It's like 2 bucks to ship 2 of them so it won't really save much money.

    No..but they are nice

I used my plastic one a while before it broke and for the last year I used nothing and got along fine. But these are handy...and they look nice. The guy from the Ultimate Garage sold almost 500 of these things for over $30 shipped. So someone must think they are needed.

Hope you know I'm just jokin around so don't get pissed I definately didn't think I would sell this many either. But the more the better!

Wow! I didn't realize the stock Avus 18"s weigh that much. My 18x8 Oettinger RZs w/ 255/35-18 P-Zero Nero's weigh 53.5 lbs each, which is .5 lbs more than the stock forged 17" 5 spoke wheels w/ 255/45-17 Yoko ES100's.
