Hey there everyone, I am new to this site as of a couple weeks ago, because I am starting to love Audis and getting one myself. I recently won a bid on an 2001 Audi TT quatto 225 Roadster from an auction in the states. My mechanic who is also a dealer is taking care of all the paperwork and what not. I do however live in Canada and the car is coming up from Florida. Thus one of the concerns I have about this. Has there been any problems regarding having an american car brought to Canada and driving it around? I did hear that if it was being brought from the states it could mean that it is in pretty good condition considering that it has not seen a winter. It will be my second car and therefore will not be drivn in the winter. It has about 50,000 Miles on it, and I've been reading up on that timing belt/chain situation and my mechanic spoke to one of the mechanics at an Audi Dealership and they said you dont have to change it till 80-90,000 miles. But how much would you say it would cost to have it changed to avoid that "dont want" engine destruction?
Is there any other advice or recommendations that any of you have for me?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
I am looking forward to driving my Audi Roadster this Summer
