    High speed run concern

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well it is 245am and I just did a high speed run on the highway. I wont say how much because a state trooper saw me but didn't bother. Well my cel started blinking so since i was going to fast to immediately stop driving, i slowed down to about 60 and shut the car off then back on and the cell went away.

Anything i should be concerned about? Why did it do that?

    Re: High speed run concern

bring that over to ICS man, shit if i paid the amt they ask for stage 3 jobs, i would bring it there if my gas light ever came on LOL. that sounds like maybe something popped off or possibly a misfire as Jerbel said. Maybe an intercooler hose fell off? That happened to me, i was on 95 about to race an STI, and I swear to god as the thought process of flooring it went from my brain to my foot my car completley shut off, i coasted off the highway and lost all my brakes pretty much and steering. lucky i got out safe! my upper IC hose came off.

    Re: High speed run concern

but what i don't understand is that when i turned the car back on I stopped, let the oil cool down a bit and then drove home. On the way home i accelerated to see how the boost was and it was normal boosting at 22. The car is completely normal right now

    Re: High speed run concern

you boost at 22 on stage3-? you must be running lean city. maybe THATS why your car shut off..... threres no way stock injectors can keep up with 22lbs of boost

    Re: High speed run concern

How high of a rpm were you running ? If you were close to redline, I would agree with the others that you were most likely misfiring due to fuel starvation. Stage 3- setups are not created to be running at rpms close to the redline.

Or it may be your CATs overheating.

22Psi on a Stage 3- program isn't normal. I'm guessing that a MBC is in use here. 22Psi near redline probably caused limp mode. Thus the flashing CEL.

    Re: High speed run concern

yes 22 and it tapers down to 20. I should get that looked at then huh?

Mike when I accelerate at 5th i boost at 16 max.
It cant be cats overheating because I have test pipes no cats at all.
And yes I was at redline cause I was well over 150mph

yeah bro, get that checked out. you're probably running lean as hell. tell them youre hitting 22-20 which is as people are saying a little too high for stock fueling.

flashing cel usually means multiple cylinder misfire..

    Re: High speed run concern

Running lean and misfiring. That's my guess. Maybe they gave you a tune for a full stage 3 by mistake??

Take it back and get them to reflash the ECU with something a bit more realistic for 3-
