    Hide the Fastrak pass?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I applied the velcro strips in my last Avant. But the new Avant has a larger mirror mount due to the rain/light sensor. And I don't want to stick the pass to my windshield.

I would prefer to have the unsightly off-white/unmatching box out of site.

Has anyone come up with a creative/functional hidden location for the pass?

register your license plate w/ fastrak and dont bother with the transponder.

every day I pass through the toll and the camera snaps a pic and bills me just like it would with the transponder.

In my old B6 Avant my transponder use to work in my knee bolster pocket. Now I dont even use the freaking transponder and just have all my plates registered.

Good call on the plates. There were a few times that I cruised through in my old Avant without the transponder going off. When I received my record, it showed that it just charged my plates.

I wonder, do the Fastrak people prefer the transponder?

I'm guessing the cost of sending out transponders < the cost of administration for camera shot + plate recognition + entry into database

Fastrak did not work in the door storage today. I don't have plates yet. Oh well!

my cousin's had his dealer plates on his E55 for a while. He always goes through fastrak and toll roads (lives in san diego) with no problems. Would I recommend it? I'll let this devious smile answer that.

OMG... you dont have plates yet! Heres what you do. Keep your transponder in your static bag until you get your plates Fastrak in no way shape or form tag or bill you if you have dealer plates. I did this for a long time crossing two bridges on a daily commute.

Call it getting over or dishonest all you want. I saved a few hundred off it.

    Re: Hide the Fastrak pass?

I got a pass cover from Ebay. If you type in tagsack in the search box they will come up. The one I got has the audi symbol on it. I think the black would probably hide better. It has two suction cups on it which really don't hold it that well, but it stays on so far and isn't as visable as the white box. You have to take the velcro off to fit in the sack, so it's tight.
