    Hey Guys-

My engine compartment is really dirty, I want to give it a good cleaning but I dont want to get any of the sensors wet of have any chemicals on parts that get hot so they dont smoke or smell. Any ideas? Btw where can I find the four rings that go on the engine cover? thanks!

yeah, i use kitchen garbage bags and cover up my electrical parts, fuse box...and i use Griot's engine cleaner, spray it on everything thats uncovered. with a soft bristled paint brush i scrub more dirty parts, then use a hose and pray it all off. I then idle for 5 minutes to help dry the engine out.

Re: Best Way to Clean Engine Compartment??

First i do it when the engine is cold.

Spray adams all porpouse cleaner over the entire engine bay, i try and keep it off the fenders. Let it soak and work in.

Next i use a brush and scrub all the parts scrub everything i can.

Next i start the engine, and quicky but lightly spray everything down. IF you hear the car studder or hicup, move the water from that area immediately.

Once everything is wash off i take a leaf blower or you can use a shop vac, but i like to clean out the hose first so you dont spray all the dirt in the hose all over the car and i dry the engine bay.

Next i use adams VRT over all the parts i can reach easily and then i use adams in and out spray over everything else i can't get to easily.

    So products i used were
    Adams all porpouse cleaner
    Adams VRT and detail sponge
    Adams in and out spray

Haven't used p21s but i here its great stuff too
