    Re: 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta Ast

I had the ASX and now have the AST and preferred the ASX, however I only got ~45k kms of use out of them (3 summers)

The AST's were mounted last year and look like they will get the same amount of kms, I was hoping for a bit better.

IMO the ASX "felt" better than the ASTs, although both are useless in snow. I may have some bias being in Winnipeg with 8 months of winter and running Michelin X-Ice for anything below 0C.
I own a budget Audi...VW. Anyone want to give donations?

They are kind of noisy. That is my only complaint.

They are good/okay tires for the money. Get way to loud IMO as the miles go on.

    thanks for all replies everybody.

I think I will leave the AST alone and look into the ASX instead.

    I'm glad I posted this

    thanks again

    Re: 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta Ast

Im running them with 235's on 18's and they are a little noisy. but they grip really well for the money and if you live in an area with lots of rain, I dont know much about NY weather lol, but WA is a real pain when it comes to rain; anyway, they have awesome hydro traction. I am really happy with them. Oh, and they also dont make much noise when you are taking hard turns. No squeels or anything of the sort.

I had those only in a 205 before my Fuzions..

    Plow control anyone?

Fuzion ZR-H is the best all season ever
And for the money Fuzion ZR-1's are tits.

    Re: 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta Ast

    NY weather sux!!! HAHA

last week it was like nice out for a few days, hit 60s and 70s.....then come the weekend and certain areas near me got snow!!!

I love to golf, so it rains like every week as well........just one more way to ruin my day
    :-)

Also, I'm not so much concerned about the all season part as I have snow tires for the winters....I want something with good traction in the dry summer and when it rains.
