    Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    I need pads all around, with sensors, which produce very little dust. Are the Hawk HPS the best bet? Do they only make them for the front?

    Ultimate stopping power in an ultra-low dust, low noise ceramic compound!

    Hawk Performance has introduced a premium, high performance, ultra-low dust, low noise compound called Performance Ceramic.

    Performance Ceramic is engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), creating a quieter performing brake pad. Furthermore, the ceramic brake pad formula has a linear friction profile that allows your ABS brake system to work more effectively. With Performance Ceramic you can expect reduced brake pad wear, lower dust output levels and a rotor-friendly brake pad.

    Performance Ceramic – quiet, clean & fast stopping!

    Key Features:

    * Increased stopping power
    * Increased rotor life
    * Extended pad life
    * Ultra-low dust
    * Extremely quiet
    * Stable friction output

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    HPS pads are great and Hawk makes them for both front and rear. Check out raceshopper.com, they had the cheapest price when I was shopping around. Also, they are way less dusty than OE pads.

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    Hawk Ceramics will provide the lowest dust, but they do not perform as well as Hawk HPS. The Hawk HPS do not have wear sensors. Idk if it is just mine but the Ceramics seem to make a lot of noise at low speeds so I was thinking about going with Carbotech Bobcats when I switch to my S4 brakes.

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    I know I should probably search but since you guys are on this topic I'll ask... I have about 19k on my car and the brakes squeak very badly but the dealer continues to say they are fine. I don't have any problems with stopping or anything but the noise is very annoying. At what mileage did you guys replace the stock brakes?

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    Hawk HPS are very good pads. Low dust, quiet, and have more bite than a ceramic pad. The are offered with for front and rear, and you can get the fronts with or w/o sensors.

    ^If your pads still have material left, probably pulling them off and applying some brake-quiet or silencer will hush them up. pad life depends on driving style, so asking 'when' someones pads wore out is a very vague question.

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    I replaced my original pads at 47k and they had a fair amount of life left. The squeak is probably from glazing on the pads. Try some hard braking, as if you're bedding in new pads a rotors to burn the glazing off.

    Re: Replacement Low-Dust Pads

    Dealer says they have pad life left. I guess will try to apply some silencer or something when I have time. Thanks for the reply guys.
