Is anyone running/planning to run GT2860r-707160-7's?

I think that most of the cars not going with GT2554's are using either GT2860rs' (disco potatoes) or GT2560r-466541-4's. I was curious if anyone is using the GT2860r-707160-7's or any 707160 turbo for that matter? http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_707160_7.htm
As far as I know, no one is running this turbo yet, but seems to be a great compromise of power/lag between the GT2554/GT2854 and the other 2560/2860's (and the 75% turbine efficiency is appealing as well). The 2860r-7 has different, threaded, bolt holes on the turbine inlet flange as well as a different "compact" bolt outlet on the turbine housing (so that it can be a direct swap for skylines). Look at the 3rd and 5th asterisks in the link above. If you are running a 707160 turbo, what kit are you running them with and what did you do for the turbine inlet and outlet flanges?

The threaded flange is nothing you can buy the correct bolts or drill the holes out to except whatever... The discharge flanges on my stuff will except both style gt2860 turbos -4 or -7 ....

And you're 100% sure on that? Just making sure.

Bump for the original question about if anyone is running/planning on running them? I'm not worried about the flange. These turbos seem like a great happy medium for someone looking for more power than 2654/2854's but don't want the lag of disco potatoes. Add to that that they have greater turbine efficiency than any other GT28 (75% compared to the GT2560's 65%), it sounds like a good choice. What do you all think?

I'm looking for any opinions/input on running these turbos. Pro's/Con's, good and bad, what do you think?

I like them a lot its the perfect compromise.. How will you run them on what kit? I almost went this route on my car, but went with the gt2560ss... I did check and the flange works with both turbos/all the GT turbos

I will either contact you, VAG, or have a local shop build a custom kit. I'll have a custom tune. Do you know if the different flange will have any effect on actual fitment of the turbos in the bay? I ask because on the used kit Guru was selling it had the holes on the discharge flange that would fit the -7 turbos ground off (don't know if it was for fitment)?

dont no why i never had any issues... Way to much work, headaches and time to have 1 one off made custom.. If you dont mind pulling the motor and installing it 10-15 times to keep checking every thing that needs it then dont waste your time... It will cost you more to have a kit made done right then what they go for... Either way good luck with the build and i think you are on the right track with the turbo...
