San Deigo guys-- How do you like the area?

    Hey guys
I'm graduating highschool in a little over a month and I need to decide where to go to school. I applied to calpoly and chico state, got rejected @ poly and accepted to chico with honors, but I really don't want to go there.

Up until recently my plan was to move to San Luis Obispo and go to Cuesta, then transfer to poly-- then I started thinking that I can go basically anywhere I want for my two years at a JC.

My girlfriend of a year and a half goes to san diego state, then she wants to transfer to either cal poly or berkeley. I'm thinking I should just move to san diego 1. for the experience of living in a big city, 2. to be at least in the same city as my girlfriend 3. for a much bigger car scene than san luis obispo.

How is the audi/euro/car scene in san diego? Is there a road course near by? Drag strip? autocross clubs? euro club cruises?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

ps. any other recommendations or experiences with schools in general, or what city to move to would help!

I went to UCSD for a year before I transfered to USC. I'm not too sure about the car crowd since i was there for school only and I was at snobbish La Jolla.

But overall, I enjoyed the time I stayed there.

Awesome. Are there any regular get togethers down there?

    edit-
whoops, you posted as i posted.

I'm thinking San Diego sounds like WAY more fun than SLO where there is no car scene, let alone an audi scene.

Whoa that's so sweet. I think that decided it for me, now to check out how the JC's are in the area.

Hopefully I'll be seeing you guys at those meets sometime in late august.

I already applied there, sweet. The whole reason I started looking at SD was to live near my girlfriend though.

She actually goes to sdsu too, how long have you been there?

Do you know which jc is closest to sdsu?

Mesa, Grossmont or Southwest college are the closet to SDSU

but agreed, back when I went there maybe 9 yrs ago, Mesa had a lot of cute asian's

Grossmont is technically the closest to SDSU

Re: San Deigo guys-- How do you like the area?

    You old man! jk

I just looked it up on google maps and they're pretty equal distance-wise. I guess it's up to what the college counselor that I talk to on monday says, right now my mind is made up for moving to san diego.

Where should I look for a roommate when I go down there? Is there a local website or should I stick with looking at the bulliten boards on campus and craigslist?

btw I put you as a referrer when I made my account on there. I don't know if that changes anything.

Re: San Deigo guys-- How do you like the area?

San Diego is sick. I have lived here since 6 years old and go to SDSU. I am currently a sophmore and love it. The car scene is good, with local meets all the time and runs every now and then. There are some good shops in the area as well. I like pure motorsports, i have tried creative autoworks and did not like the vibe they gave me and shit. Always girls I mean it is socal.

For JC colleges you can also take them online. I attend state full time plus take a few classes online at mesa.

When you apply to mesa it also accepts you at san diego city and miramar as well as mesa. It is a good deal. Classes are also very cheap

Renting, Student budget, planning on either working part time or getting a paid internship. Basically I just want to live somewhere as cheap and as close to the sdsu area as possible without being in the ghetto (or at least not having to worry about my car getting stolen ).

PureMS is down in san diego? Holy shit! cool.
