    Photgraphing a Black Audi

Does anyone have any tips for photographing a black car? I tried photographing my black S4 the other day with my digital camera and the pics just don't seem to be coming out right (too much reflection I think). Has anyone successfully taken any good pictures of a black car? Do I need to adjust the settings/exposure/etc.? Do I need better equipment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks. Here's a shot that I took with my plain old digital camera. Definitely needs some help!

Try taking the pics later in the day after the sun has started to set.

I have a simple UV filter and I shot this on a fairly cloudy overcast day.

You actually want to shoot with a polarizing filter. They are very common for any outdoor photography and without sounding like a total photo nerd, they dramatically reduce and change the way your camera sees reflected light. It also helps shooting on an overcast day as well, like you saw above.

The best option is a circular polarizer that allows you to rotate the filter to adjust how you want your reflections to look, nor not look.

You dont have to buy an expense one if youre only posting these images online. The size is small enough where you wont notice a difference You can also buy one and shoot your digital compact through it, since it wont thread mount right to the lens. Just throw it on a tripod and hand hold that sucker.
