    Viscous fan removal

Hopefully this will be an easily answered question. I'm doing a set of belts on my car. The cooling pump belt is directly behind the viscous fan. I looked on alldata and it said to remove the viscous fan in order to replace that belt but didn't give a description on how to remove it. Is it the 8mm hex bolt in the back of the bracket? Or does the fan need a thin large wrench to be removed? Thanks in advance

Yes you remove the bolt from the back. You will also need to find a way to stop the fan from turning. There is a hole in the bracket and a hole in the round metal part of the fan. you need to line up the holes and put a some type of pin in it. You will need something strong to do it. Good luck
