B6 OEM XM Unit in B7

Should this be plug and play? What will I need to do to get it working? I know that I need to call and start service, but as far as electronically ... do I need anything in order to get it to work?

I don't have navigation or sirius and my changer is in the head unit.

I know that newer modules will work older head units, but vice-versa is less clear. Which head unit do you have? Do you have tire pressure monitoring? Check the sticky thread at the top of the forum, that will tell you the correct part number. The other difference to worry about is whether your car's antenna has one or two satellite leads. Older ones have two leads, newer ones have one, so you might need to get an adapter if it doesn't match up right.

Figure out what you need and check on eBay. There are lots for sale over there. Search for "VW" as well as Audi, since they use the same module in both (and VW people seem to want less for theirs than Audi folks do).

thanks for the help ... the receiver came and the male end of one of the wires doesn't fit the female portion on the receiver.

    Any help?

I PMed you but for anyone else who's wondering, you shouldn't have to cut anything (at least on a B6 that's prewired). I think you might be trying to use the wrong wire (the harness is pretty well hidden back there) Check this out: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec121.shtml
