smoke coming from right side of motor

First off I bought this car two weeks ago have put 1500 miles on it already I didn't drive the car for two days and drove it this weekend for a mile. Parked and saw smoke coming out of the right front wheel. I open the hood and way down in between the airbox and the right engine cover smoke was coming out. It seems very hot for such short distance towards the back of the motor and it smelt like oil. I'm wondering if I have a small oil leak and it's leaking on the exhaust/manifold or something and buning off. Since I didn't drive it for a few day more was able to drip and more to burn off??? I don't know. Could you guys maybe help me. I'm coming from a 328I E46 BMW and the engine compartment looks a lot harder on this S4. It's a 2000 Nogaro Blue with 78k I paid 10k for it. Thanks in adance and you guys are awesome so far!!

I had the same problem. I replaced my valve cover gaskets and no more problem.

Valve cover gasket lol, happened to me too. It would've cost about 900 if it wasn't under warranty for me

    -cam seals
    -tensioner gaskets

    parts required :

    2 058-198-217 GASKET SET
    2 078-103-113-E COVER

Re: smoke coming from right side of motor

thanks guys....!!! I replace the exhaust man. gaskets on the BMW and the mech "BOOK" said it take 14hrs to replace that ways the dealer can charge you 14hrs of labor even though it might take them 2hrs to do it. I guess I'm going to attack this after a little while. I'll just watch the oil for a while. I'm trying to save up $2500 for this bronco that has a brand new motor so I can depend on that as a daily driver while I tackle the AUDI
