Im going to be starting NEIT in october and just want to know whos gonna be in that area?

Ohh and what are the laws about radar dectors. I have heard mixed things from friends saying they are leagal/ilegal

radar detectors are only frowned upon i think. i've heard stories from cops not saying a word about them and i've heard stories saying the cop actually made the person put it under the wheel and run it over in front of him...if you get pulled over with one just unplug it and hide it when you get nailed. or get a valentine with stealth display so no one will see

im in auto tech and will be in high performance my last quarter. wicked laid back program,awesome teachers,lots of VW/Audi kids. only shitty class is the math. physics is easy as cake,english is just a fun laid back,do whatever kinda class. all the tech classes,engines,electrical,etc are fun as hell. work on your own car all day long with any tool you can think of at your fingertips...

I live in West Warwick, and work right in Warwick...if you want to know anything about the area, feel free to ask...I'm an import myself to the area, and have been around here for 7+ years, so I know the area pretty good. As far as radar detectors, best thing is to hardwire it, and put near the rear view mirror...that way it's more or less out of sight if you get pulled over, I've never been bothered about having mine!

sounds like its going to be a blast. What math do you have to take. The last math i took was senior year in high school(triend tradiotional college and failed) and i took calc..is it a good school for newbs to wrenching becuase i have not done any. Parents wouldnt let me do much with cars. My dad kept wanting me to be an engineer

yeah its a good time. yeah i only took algebra classes in high school which was 5 years ago. i just started at NEIT in january so needless to say i havent used math in quite awhile...if you havent taken the placement test yet,i suggest understanding fractions at least because if you get placed in math 1 you have to take 2 math classes+physics,if you get put in math 2 like me,you only need that one and physics.

yeah if you dont know anything about cars you'll learn quickly,they throw you right into it. I've been working on cars forever so my first quarter was just a refresher kind of because it was basic/advanced engine class. but it will be easy,try to get Joe Romano for Basic/Advanced engine class.

p.s.- i sucked in math,did almost no homework but still did ok on tests,missed more than half the classes,and still passed with a C- for the quarter. you should be straight.

I live in southern RI. I'm currently at UMass Amherst for neuroscience/pre-med, but I'm coming back to URI next year. Rock the radar detector, I wouldn't worry about it. Just put it up near your rear view and you'll be straight. If you're not doing anything this Saturday, the 19th, a few people are getting together down at the beach in Narragansett. You should check it out!

I live in North Kingstown but am very farmiliar with the area having lived here all my life (even tho im only 18) ill be starting at NEIT also in their architecture program...there is a local car group taht i belong to you should deffinatly check out there are about 40-45 people that show up to our meets regularly at applebees on rt.2 in warwick, heres the group page http://www.eurosociety.net/ you can either join the forum or there is a facebook group there should be a link if you have any questions pm me were always looking for more audis theres only 4 i believe including myself all the rest are vw lol and a few bmw's


and radar detectors are 'legal' but if you dont ahve it hidden well hide it when you get pulled over b/c some cops frown upon it but they wont take or get a ticket if you dont

ok i'll deffantaly look into hardwiring my radar dector..does anyone know if there is a way to adapt a plug that is meant for a cigarett lighter and split it up so i can put it ontop of the rear view mirror and then hard wire it that way

Definitely check out the meets on Rt. 2 at Applebees Wednesdays ~8pm. I been running a radar ever since I can remember and cops have seen it in my car. Mine is hardwired and takes 2 minutes to do.

hardwiring it into a B6 is easy, there is a write up somewhere i have it saved at home. they never hassled me about my detector before, they bothered me about tint
