    Audi Preformance

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

Ive been lurking around this forum for about 5 months now. I want to get a b7 A4 6 speed Quattro. Lately ive seen threads pop up about "How does the A4 stack up against......." And it got me a little worried becuse as much as i love the b7 it makes me think it really slow. I know the 2.0t has potential becsue the GTIs put down some good numbers @ the dragstrip. Does the audis weight and all wheel drive slow it down THAT MUCH? The reason im asking is becuse in about a month i will be ready to get a b7 and i dont want to be diappointed. I want a gooood looking car with preformance as well....
let me know what you guys think...

    Thanks
    Kris

My B7 A4 2.0T Quattro Tip with about 3500 in performance mods is a mid to high 13 second car and 0-60 in the 5's. The 6MT is even better than that. You won't be disappointed.

If you want to drag race there are much better platforms to start off with. Ex. Evo/sti/03 mustang terminators. But I didnt buy my a4 to drag race.

Im sure there are better platforms than the b7 but none of them have the comfort or the class. I just dont want to be the SLOW kid on the block... Thanks for the quick replys.

You definitely wont be the slow kid on the block. Theres plenty of torque in the low rpms that allow you to have some fun. But there are definitely cheaper cars that are faster. But thats not why people buy an A4.

People buy an A4 because its the right combination of luxury, speed, technology, and safety thats within their price range.

the b7's 2.0T arn't slow at all i race my friend with a jeep srt8 and i keep right on his tail. Even though his car is faster then mine, my car will catch up on the turns and it performs and feels much better. Its a solid car!

    Re: Audi Preformance

An A4 is definitely worth your money.

I am a sales consultant for a Subaru dealership.

    I had an 05 STi

I still think the A4 is the better car for ME because like someone said earlier its a perfect combination of speed, luxury, and safety.

For $40k you can get an STi fully loaded.

My A4 is a 6MT Quattro with S-Line package, convenience package, Navigation package.. which means it has leather, pearl paint, awd, nav, power seats, 18 inch wheels/pirelli p6 tires, fog lights, Xenon Projectors, 2.0 turbo...

although it has less power and speed than the STI, its got way more that the STI does not have.. and I got mine for $36,995

and as for the power, you can fix that easily with some inexpensive mods.

so thats my .02, you won't be disappointed, very fun car to drive :D

it has nice kick when you buy it stock, but even better when you make that first mod after 1k mileage of upgraded ECU to APR, Revo or GIAC ($600).

If you are buying a car for power, don't get this one. It is a luxury sedan that is sporty. With mods it can be pretty fast, the more money you spend the faster it goes. But stock its goal is not to be fast, its to be comfortable. If you are just hoping for a nice car that has some good pep and lots of potential then a A4 is a good choice

lol well I got 2 tickets the first week. I was coming from a 94 toyota pickup. So there is some definite fun in the car, it ain't gutless by no means, and just few mods and you got your self a well perfoming luxury/sports sedan. I think you will really love it, unless you are coming from something with lots of power and performance.

    Re: Audi Preformance

An A4 with basic mods is not slow at all. What are you worried about, like what are your friends driving that you think you'll be slower than? Just chip/exhaust will make you faster than 90% of what you'll find on the road (be reasonable) but if you're looking to have "one of the fastest" cars then I would look into something else.

All of my friends have quick coupes, slower sedans, trucks... then they see my car. It's a 4 door that can fit 5 people fine, decent trunk, awesome options, QUATTRO and it can run a high 13 1/4mi with only a few mods if you learn how to drive it. All of my friends want my car lol. No I can't win every race nor do I expect to, but it's more of a luxury car and it's very comfortable and good looking. I'd buy a Neon srt4 if I just wanted to win races
    Ignorance is bliss.

"Slow" is relative to subjective perception. Personally I base "mashing the pedal" to go in straight lines as a indicator of speed synonymous with "slow drivers and slow driving".

Im coming from a 2002 Acura Rsx-S I have a few mods in it but its time for something a little more classy. Im pretty sure i will be satisfied with the audi and i am planning on modding so it should be a all around fun car like mentioned before. the reason i made this thread was becuse i got a little worried about the threads made during the last couple of weeks comparing the audi to other cars. Since the Audi is a All around great fuck me,pure sex type of car i will be definetly going for it if everything works out. Thank You for all the help and i cant wait to join this community........

If I was buying new I'd buy a 335xi if you wanted speed, luxury and AWD. The only downside is the fact that it'll be more expensive, but it won't depreciate as quickly as the Audi will.

These cars aren't slow, they are just fairly limited in stock form. In the end your limited by the stock turbo and unfortunately there isn't a turbo upgrade option out that is reasonably priced and then you have to deal with a fuel pump that's difficult to upgrade/modify.

Cloud be. i kept up with my friends gti 1.8t stage 3 APR full exhaust intake, boost controller stage 2 clutch limited slip, and a lighter flywheel. I know that the 2.0t has a lot more potential but my car isnt all that slow for N/A. On the other hand i cant wait to get this thing and start modding it will be a whole new expiriance.

Yea i definetly cant afford that just yet. It would be nice though....
