    custom magnaflow exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

    thanks UPS!
i got my pieces for my custom exhaust! i'm still debating on resonators or no resonators though.. ill add that later

    heres what i got:
2x 12215 Magnaflow mufflers (will paint them black)
2x Vibrant 1226 tips (one not pictured)
1x Magnaflow Y pipe. 2.5" in to dual 2.25" out

the 12215 is pretty much the same core they used for the 14518 mufflers except its not polished and no tips. I want the custom tips so i can adjust how far they extend out the bumper.

You see what I am planning on doing is calculating the angles and whatnot for my exhaust and getting my friend to weld it up....it gotta be cheaper than taking it to a shop....

You're going to have a hard time making that fit right. I would pay to have it fab'd at a shop...it's very difficult to do it off the car.
Usually they will piece it on from front to back and each piece needs to be played with and moved around before it's all welded up.
Doing it off the car beforehand will agravate the hell out of you.
You could try with another exhaust laying next to it and try and copy but still it would be easier on the car. Just my 2 cents.

Right I hear what you are saying.

Its just that all the shops around me, dont believe in mandrel bending and think that i am crazy.....plus they want almost $800 just to fab up an exhuast from the downpipe to the mufflers...(I already have an APR downpipe plus 14851's and they want $800 for everything inbetween...crazy!)

I will have to keep my eyes open for more shops!

BTW my plan was to weld up the exhuast by replicatintg the stock one....and by piecing it together on the car....I wouldnt see why that wouldnt work.

    We'll see what happen

WOW! i say find a competent shop... these guys obviously dont care about anything but getting your money. but as posted above, you will have a VERY VERY frustrating time eye-balling everything (i know your calculating, but theres nothing like fitting the parts).

    Re: custom magnaflow exhaust

ok... i ran into a snag.. many local shops here are quoting me about $400 to do the piping =(

the worse part is that they are piping it from the midpipe back... why the hell would they think that i bought a 2.5 in y pipe only to stick it into a 2.25 mid pipe...if i cant find a competent shop by next week im ditching the exhaust and getting a neuspeed.
