Just bought an Audi!

Picked up my Audi today, this is my "first" car! Previously, I was driving my parents vehicles, so this is my own car with my name on it and the insurance.

First of all welcome to AZ. Plenty of useful info and please use the search button. Not only will it help you from not getting flamed but also us from having to flame you. Anyways, Audi's are great cars but not a great car as your first. Unless it had most of the maintenance done be prepared to shell out some "cash money" "dolla dolla bill y'all" and cash towards repairs. The timing belt needs changed, water pump, and bunch of other little things that rack up in cash very quickly. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and most of us will give you a good answer. Everyone else will just tell you to do a VR6 motor swap even thought the question is about spark plugs.

Welcome to Audizine and congrats on your purchase. As another stated, the Search button is your freind. First time I joined a car forum I got flamed for not knowing to search before asking, so just trying to save you from the situation.

But the first thing you should do is find a reputable mechanic (that works on Audis) and get you car fully diagnosed and see what should be needed to get her to full specs. I owned mine for maybe 4-5 months and this week I am doing last jobs to get her to full specs. Minus front right wheel bearing. You should have a reliable car before you start to think about mods. Which will not be much for the 2.8. Use the search link provided to learn of what mods can be done to your car. 1.8t is the route to go for modifications. And if you have any questions you need answered, be sure to search first then ask. And people are more than happy to answer and help in any way.

Based on the service records, it looks like it was well taken care of. Right now, it needs an oil change asap. I'm thinking it will need new brakes as they feel a little soft.

Hello and welcome to the forums..The 2.8 quattro is a fun car and reliable one to drive..You will not really find any engine performance parts for the car and that is OK.. some will tell you tell get a 1.8t and what not,dont listen just enjoy the car and get to know the car and have a blast driving it..If you want a fast car buy one but enjoy driving the 2.8 car..I have one and people ask me all of the time how fast it is and I always tell people I have no idea,its never been over 4000rpm...lol.....
Once again and you have been told,if the timing belt has not been replaced and you dont know..DO IT...that is not a option...it will fail and you will trash the engine for sure..

yeah man, lucky to get such a cool car as your first. but welcome to audizine. we are the coolest here, at least id like to think so. its definitely the easiest site to navigate through, threadwise. audi world and stuff is just so hard. sometimes they have good diy's though so dont just hang out around here.

Welcome, the 2.8 is fun to drive, sucks in the city but you have a auto/tip so it wont be bad for you at all(maybe i just dont like driving in boston)..enjoy the car and i hope you have a big bank account audi's are not cheap to own

It's not too bad, it accelerates nice and smooth, I was driving a 2003 Suzuki Aerio SX 2.0 previously, so definitely a change in power there :)
