S4 Mirror Caps

So I bought a set of no name mirror caps before the winter and put them on my car. I barely drove the car all winter and I've been inspecting their condition. It looks as if the cap surface was bubbling up. I took them off my car and thought I should just sand them down and see if I can repaint them. As I'm sanding them down I discover that these caps are not painted but rather covered with a metallic film. Underneather they are just white plastic. Has anyone else had this problem during the winter? If not what manufacturer are yours?

The problem is that there's tons of chrome mirrors but no matt mirrors.

U have a nice and quality car, WHY dont you pay 100$ more and get the OEM part instead of some replicas..?

Uts my word, its how I do when its possible.. approx. 100$ is such a smal amount for the difference of OEM - replica..
