    Re: Just Like Music

I've always thought about posting this same thread but never got to it. Good idea BTW, I am so sick of what I have in my iPod, but here are a few of my current favorites for spirited driving.

    - She sells sanctuary by The Cult For fast, smooth spirited driving.
    - Heaven (Nicola Conte "West Coast Vives"Remix) by Bitter Sweet. For going out at night to a Jazz Club, etc...
    - All these things that I've done by The killers. Perfect for road trips...
    - Vivaldi, Concerto for mandolin and orchestra in C-major RV 425. Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. For driving to work.
    - Players Holiday By Too Short. This is for cruizing at low speeds windows rolled down and moonroof wide open and just chilling in general.

So there you go, not your run of the mill stuff but that's what I like. I tried to stay main stream (to protect closed minds from harm) but I actually look for music that offers different sounds, and ideas and some of the stuff I listen to would be too weird for most people. But if you want to hear some weird, but beautiful shit PM me and I will pass on some of the names of good stuff to download. I like alsmost all kinds of music except for Country or Western.

Well you may laugh, but the tv show TOP GEAR voted "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen the best driving song ever made. Its pretty good.

Great song, plus they play it at the beginning of Layer cake the movie, when they are driving up to the the big hotel in a RS6 Avant!

I don't like rap much, but the new Mos Def and Common cd are pretty good. - Other than that, i like Matt Wertz/Jack Johnson/DMB/John Mayer/Matt White/Jason Reeves , stuff like that and some Alt Rock. OH!! and Sirius :)

Frank, you are a true Audi fan, I watched that movie and at the time I had an S6, back then I had no clue about modding cars (still don't) and I knew I had a kick ass car judging by the price tag, but that made me realize that the S avants were a true Icon of coolness and elegance that only a few will even understand. I am not at all the gangster type, but if I ever were one it would be like the guy in that movie...
I wish more people pitched in with their music ideas. In this day and age of iPods you can go through music at an alarming pace. There are songs that I love and try not to listen to to avoid growing bored of them and if people post some of the things they like it helps "open new doors" into finding music I would have just browsed through and most likely not see otherwise...

    Peace!

The Black Keys - Thickfreakness: By far the rawest hardest blues you will hear. they kick so much ass i promise if you like classic rock and/or blues you will love it and will be your favorite album for some time.

Pink Floyd - Meddle: oldy but goody, the way the 1st song starts really makes me wanna drive fast

I got more, but i will hold of here for now

    BTW,
I do enjoy mars volta. I think they rock, but I hate the really spacy stuff. I think I am too old for that now :)
