    Cool Window regulators fix

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I searched and found a window regulator DIY install but it was titled for B5.

    Is it the same?

Anyone can chime in on other DIY postings to assist me on fixing my driver's side and passenger rear-right windows?

Should i be purchasing parts from MPLChase? other reputable sources or then stealership?

    Thanks!!!

    Bill

Do not follow that DIY that was written for the back window. He cut sheetmetal out of his door. Basically he compromised the integrity and support of that back door and then glued the regulator back together. The actual part from Audi is $120, I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago. It took about 2 hrs and I am no expert mechanic. Please do not half ass fix your car like that guy did.

    Re: Window regulators fix

agreed on about cutting! I have taken the back door apart before so I think I can pull that one off.

The front is interesting though that I'm not too sure if i'm comfortable about doing....

Nevermind on helping me on fixing this issue.

I decided to just get rid of the car.

Done. Sold. To the Toyota dealership!

he said that he cut those metal supports to give him more room to work with but that it wasnt necessary. the general concept of the DIY is very valid and should not be overlooked for someone with the same problem.

    Re: Window regulators fix

Exactly, I'm about to do it on my friends car.
Except I'm not cutting the door support with a dremel..
that doesn't seem like a good idea
