22'' magnaflow resonator TOOOO big?

Hey boys i just got a custom exhaust installed on my APR chipped 2000 A4 1.8t k03 from the downpipe back 2.5 stainless steal to a 22'' magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow 14862 exhaust, and my gosh the drone is bad between 2000 - 3000 rpm, i thought the bigger resonator would make it quiet but damn is this shit loud and deep, now my question is what is the optimal size for a resonator and i have STFA read about quieting down exhaust systems, all i want is no drone and a notch above stock in sound, someone please save me from this noisy beast

My 3" drones really bad the same way, I think the problem is with the muffler/resonator.

I also think that placement of the resonator also increase/decreases the amount of drone in the cabin. Look at the stock resonator point on a stock A4 exhaust...

on my 2.5 exhaust I run 18" resonators because they ate the dame diameter
