    Are these even necessary?

I see pics like this and I really wonder what the point of having silicone hoses that connect to the Y pipe? I know it comes in the kit, but is the air really even being pressurized on this side of the turbos? Just for looks?

I bet the stock one isn't made of the best material.
Maybe for looks? And prevent leaks

    Re: Are these even necessary?

Well some pressurized air flows through them when the diverter valve recirculates air back into the intake system... but yea I think most people do it for looks, I just so happened to buy a samco kit on sale during the holidays so thats the only reason i have them.. but im sure the stock hoses would hold up quite well... some stage 3 cars (10secs4 aka marc) uses all stock hoses..

Yeah I am running 20 pounds of boost and I know that my stock ones seem to be just fine. I have def had more of a problem with my silicone intercooler hoses and TBB popping off. These aren't worth the money IMO.

    Re: Are these even necessary?

i think they look ugly as well. looks dumb. anyways, but i also have them they are the upper intake hoses, at first i got them for looks, but then it came with the kit so i sold the ones that came brand new in the kit off. idk, they look so much better than the stockers lol
