Now I have only seen a couple posts on intercooler misting and am curious about it. Anyone have good feedback?
Keep in mind I mean misting not injection.
Anyone have pics? Particularly Jet Jockey or Shawn

pretty sure you can get nitrous kits that do that.
like a bar that goes on front of the intercooler and sprays it with nitrous oxide.

just a theory but where was your liquid? I mean wouldnt the liquid have to be like in the cabin or trunk to have a positive effect on cooling the intercooler?

    Re: Intercooler Misting...

Intercooler water/no2 spraying is merely a band-aid IMO... A true use for it would be if you could not fit a larger core, and have reached a "wall" of not being able to increase airflow accross the core. If this is a drag racing appliction, most chose to just to run a water/air IC when they reach that limit. Spraying is a last resort. If this is to be an autox/road racing application...the entire engine's cooling system should be taken into consideration, and most would choose to run a more conservative tune and turn down the boost, rather then risk grenading the engine on lap 10...

That's what I was referring to...didn't even get into meth inj... Which is another topic in itself

I just don't feel misting is the proper way to solve a heatsoak prob in the core.

Another application is if you go sleeper with a fat side mount, spray it from the outside, and meth inj the intake tract...but that's another topic in itself as well...

    Re: Intercooler Misting...

Water misting the IC core, to PREVENT heat soaking the IC, is a valid and proven technique. As recommended by "X1Rider", see the articles at http://autospeed.com/cms/A_0527/article.html

didnt think so.... i'd hate to see what actual offroading would do to the underside of the car.... hell, isnt there plastic covering the majority of the underbelly??

    Re: Intercooler Misting...

The only thing it would be potentially useful for is if your waiting in line for an autocross or drag and your car is moving only a little bit at a time thus not giving any airflow to the intercooler. If you had a system like this you could use it right before your pass.
