    question about rear window wiper

One thing I've seen in Japanese market sedans is that the makers add a rear wiper, especially since modern design seems to not allow the rain/water to run down as easily.
But, when the JDM models come to the US the rear wiper is not offered.

I have the same issue with my A4 that I had with my 3 series.
It's been raining a lot lately and I HATE that we don't get a rear window wiper cause the rain really blocks the rear view quite a bit.
The rear slope doesn't drain enough water away, and there is very little air flow to blow the rain off.
After the rain the drops just sit there and then the water drys and leaves behind the dirt and dust further blocking the rear view.

I use Liquid Glass on my car and on my windows and it makes the rain just fly off the windshield and the side windows. But, on the rear window the rain just sits there and then gets dirty.

I would really love it if car makers would start adding or adding an option for a rear window wiper. I would take it.
So, how many would like that? Why or why not?

Re: question about rear window wiper

I don't know about the wiper but I imagine it would be pretty expensive.

I use to have the same problem with my old 3 series and I carried a squeegee thing, I think it was called a california wiper blade, to wipe off the window. It's kind of a pain in the ass but three wipes and its done and no dirt/water spots.

Have you tried the rain-x stuff? Works pretty good on the front, it might help more than your liquid glass but I've never tried that.

I know what you mean though, I also hate how the light reflects off the water drops at night.

I'd imagine it will look hideous on an A4 sedan.

Just Rain-X your wear glass. It actually works pretty great.
