    newb here...with a few questions

Hey fellas...i'm new to the audizine and audi cars in general. i've owned a few german cars in the past, but looking to get into my first audi (B7 S4 to be exact). i've lurked around here long enough to gather some general info about the car, but not nearly enough to be familiar with them.

For starters I'm looking at a 2005.5 fully loaded S4 (except Nav)http://www.audidowntownla.com/used_v...1f6c1824d6c6ae i've done my homework but i wanted to get fellow member's takes on whether this is a good deal or not. also, are there any known problems i should be aware of. this particular car is CPO, so i think i should be ok, just wanna be sure. any input is appreciated and i look forward to sharing my experience as an audi owner . tks.

Very nice price for a CPO! And the carfax is clean, go for it! Don't expect good mileage though...

Re: newb here...with a few questions

cpo and low mileage are a plus. sedan and tip are relatively much easier to find. i would start at 29k and max 31k. as much as i want the s4 to hold it's value, i think that's what you can get now.

i got my 05 mt avant with 22k miles for 34k last oct. no cpo though.
extended audi platinum warranty for 3 more years will cost me $1800 when the factory expires.

California prices may be a bit different than Florida. Check Edmund if you want. 34K for a 2005 with low mileage and CPO is a very decent price. I got my 2004 CPO 6sp and 33K miles for 32K back in December (it had built in K40 which sweetened the deal). zip 34117.
You will love the car. A stick would be nicer but up to you.
It may be difficult to get it for 31K but good luck and let us know.

tks for the input fellas, much appreciated. I actually just got back from the dealer and didnt' even get to test drive because something was wrong with the catalytic converter and the new one won't arrive for a few days . is this a common problem for this year and model? its CPOd but makes me feel sketchy bout it. what does everyone think?

k40 is a radar detector, usually built in. If they are fixing the cat, than that shows they are willing to do what's right. I haven't seen anyone else having problems with the cat, unless they had a coil pak failure and continued to drive it, which could ruin the cat due to that cylinder not firing. It's CPO'd, I'd trust it. If you have any doubts, take it to a local independent shop, I'm sure someone here can chime in with one in your area? That price is good, I'd jump if it is what you want.

Good price. I bought my CPO 05.5 tip with 22,300 miles end of Feb. for $36k. It has navi and power rear shade, though, which bumps the price a little.
