Good day.

As a longtime Audi person, having owned (way back) a 4000S Quattro, a 2000 A4, I looking to buy Audi again.

My Mercedes got stolen and I have placed an order for a 2009 RS4 which I won't get until Feb next year. In the meanwhile I am thinking of buying my buddy's 2001 TT (I know, FWD) and am wondering what your experiences have been with said car.

I am going to give it to my girl when my Audi comes.....

1. Any problems?
2. What kind of power gains have you seen?
3. Standard upgrades - K04 and the like as in an A4

I just got a 2001 FWD TT. Handling is crisp. Acceleration is decent. There is a fair amount of understeer which is expected in a front wheel drive car with ample torque.

I test drove some Quattros and although no understeer, I could definitely feel the extra weight and so actually preferred the FWD. My car is relatively rattle free, but I hear that the TTs are notorious for all kinds of squeaks, rattles and interior noise.

Overall I am really enjoying the car. It looks great inside and out. I do wish the exhaust note was better though. The 1.8T in my old 2001 A4 had a much more satisfying stock exhaust note.

I love my Quattro, Handles like its on rails. acceleration great 225h adding more in future looks great and I get all kinds of compliments.So go for it.
