    Drip, drip, drip

Long story short, my car is leaking.

I'm pretty new, so don't laugh too hard, but my fingers are crossed that this is just a gasket problem.

What do you think the problem is here? I'm fairly certain its the rust-coloured piece (what is that?) that's leaking, you can see the pool below it.

here's a pic of the colour of the fluid (the grains are from the ground, not the drip), it's really dark brown...

    thanks in advance

Looks like power steering fluid. Have you check your fluid level in the power steering resevoir?

yup i was going to say power steering as well..

make sure it doesnt get too low, otherwise your pump will start to whine and then eventually burn itself out

bwoy, did you ever fix you rack?

    lmfao!!

dude me to! I seriously could care less topping it off every 2 weeks or so...but because of the shot rack my toe is off like crazy and it is really affecting my tire wear!

let me ask you something too: If you were to jack your car up and hold one of the front wheels in the 3 and 9 oclock position...is their any play for you? (I know there isnt supposed to be any, but I am try to conclude if it is my tierods or the actual rack that is making is shake so much!)

    Re: Drip, drip, drip

I havent tried that yet but at 55mph it vibrates my steering wheel a bit. I thought it was my alignment that got thrown off by the bad rack, but now as you mention this I could be wrong. I'll have to check that out this weekend.

But my tire wear is still pretty good.

diff seal? I dont think so.....This is at the front of the car right below the coolant tank. If the seal there was leaking it would be red in color....

To the OP: Check you drivers side boot and check the lines...they run right over that axle

    Re: Drip, drip, drip

what fluid is red in your car? pentosin surely isn't red. the propshaft leak i had looked clear but if you dabbed it with super white inkjet paper it would turn golden piss yellow; try it! you'll see what color it really is.

only thing close to red would be the G12 pink coolant but it crusts up.
