making a tip FAST!

hey everyone
im deciding to go Tiptronic again, found someone who is looking for a car for me. it will be a 2001.5 Tip, and i was wondering how fast i could make it by spending not too much money. There is a chipped 2001.5 B5 S4 owner with 6-speed thats saying how fast his car is, and ive driven wtih him, and he just FLIES past everyone. I want my tiptronic to be like that and be able to shut him up should we ever race or do anything like that.

Is there a way to do that? or no? He's got a shortshifter and a chip, not sure what chip or short shifter he's got, but his car is FAST. i know it isnt stage 2, and it is just stage 1. How fast can Tips go? can they ever beat a 6-speed?

tip? fast? eh, if you change your turbos you'll be able to beat him...until he changes his turbos

Currently it takes a lot more work for a tip to beat a 6-speed.

You'll have to at least go with turbo back exhaust and a good tune, and get sneaky with a race gas file.

i raced a stg2+ six speed when i was stg2+ and i didnt lose so do what ever you want.

i sold it because it had a salvage title and found out it had frame damage from a previous owner. that aside, i didnt come on here to get a drivers ed lesson nor any kind of a financial improvement seminar that involves you giving your input on why the s4 is a bad car for me.

just asking what i can do to make a tiptronic s4 fast. im not going to be taking down ferraris and i am not that dumb kid with the M5. get that straight.

unless you've got some kind of standing agreement with God saying that you wont get in any car accidents or crashes just because you have more experience than me, you have no right to say i'm the dumb one with the s4. My record is clean.... no tickets, no crashes, no fender benders. whats your record?

chip - $400-700
exhaust - $500-1200
DP's - $200-$1500
KO4 upgrade - $5k-10k (depending on fueling and labor)
upgraded torque converter - $800
upgraded valvebody - $800

why not get an el cheapo honda or nissan and throw in a big turbo, it'll be just as fast and you'll have money left over. throw that in a mutual fund and then in 6 years it'll double to use as a nice down payment for a nice car after college.

Yea, stage 2+ on a tip should get you to smoke your buddy if he doesn't add anymore mods. It'll cost you a bit under $3k.

Indianpryd, I do commend you on feeling so strongly and passionatly about your choice of cars. I beleave that a 16 year old can get killed in a turbo Honda, just as fast as an S4. At least you will be safer in an Audi than in a turbo-tin-can.

i think i will take your advice and talk to the guy who runs the shop that did the maintenance for my old S4 about the things that you mentioned, and go from there.

the reason i am getting a tiptronic is because i cannot find a 6-speed that fits my needs. The guy that is looking for mine and looking in the 5 state area says that there are only 4-6 for sale that fit my needs and they are priced pretty high. I could wait, but my dad is taking off on May 3rd for 5 months to India, so without him i cant really buy a car nor sign any documents that would let me buy the car. Also, the man who is looking for my car is the guy that did my old maintenance on my previous S4 took my salvage S4 on trade for about 5 grand. It was all that i could get even though the car was in great shape, just had a previous bad history. So i cannot go elsewhere, but i do trust the guy.

i suppose i could try holding off on the tiptronic, but odds are is that ill probably get a tip. i know, i dont really want to, but its whats out there.

Im gonna get a GSR and boost it and crank my boost controller to 20 psi when my map is only good for 10 c/ im 16 and don't know wtf im doing but hey what they hell the car is faster! lean it WAY out and BOOM dad! i blew my car up wtf? honda's suck blah blah blah, wanna by my and my friends ef? it weighs a lot less the the s4, i can say it will smoke you friends stage 2+ will no problems and when you crash/blow it up its not to much to fix.

A 16 year old should not own a S4, wrx, evo or any other sports car. You will crash it. You are 16 you barely know how to operate a car. A car with power like that is a death wish. I know how I drove at 16 and good thing I had a slow pos. Why do you think people keep saying that? It's not jealousy, it's experience. Something daddy can't buy.
