boost gauge questions, podi or newsouth

I'm pretty confused by the differences in boost setups. All vendors have my respect for creating one, but I want one that looks the best. The vent gauge does not look OEM to me, but at least it comes in gray. Podi mounts on the right and NewSouth on the left. They offer different gauges, SW for Podi and VDO for NewSouth, $83 vs $179. Left seems better to me.

Is this the NewSouth VDO gauge the same as the vent gauge sold by AWE?

Do they match properly when the lights are on?

    Thanks, Gene

in regards to podi on the left or right. to me, seeing the rpm's is more important than seeing 0-15 mph on the speedometer. put this way, Porsche has the rpms right in the middle with the speedometer off to the side.

Actually I see an advantage to see RPM and boost at a glance, and the area beyond redline is less important to me as I have a tiptronic and don't plan on going high performance anyway.

i have the newsouth, i love it, it covers 7000rpm and up, so it dosnt really cover anything thats useful.. i changed the led in mine out to white and it matches very well... and no the VDO isnt the same as the AWE, but i think it looks more OEM... 2 thumbs up for the newsouth with VDO. awe vent looks stupid to me.... but thats just me i guess

I had the Podi Guage pod and loved it because of

    1. it's placement (right).
    2. you can use whatever gauge you want that fits that suits your lighting needs.
