    2->1 Fmic?

    Anyone tried this on an S4 yet? Its got (2) 2.5" inlets and (1) 3" outlet.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Twin-...mZ320227062921

    I've see the CXRacing 2->2 style FMIC but I wonder if this would be feasable. It would eliminate the TBB everyone seems to hate, which might make for a less turbulent flow condition at the throttle body.. Core is slightly smaller I guess (168in^2 vs the CXRacing's 242in^2) but the core is 3.5" thick vs CXR's 3" but how effective is the CXR if part of the core is hidden behind the bumper? Thoughts? Maybe its shorter overall length could save foglights? Just thinking out loud here

    ahhhhh I wish they would make one just like that, but with 2 inlets and 2 outlet's...

    It would be perfection

    That is why I initially was looking for alternatives, the CXR ones just have such odd end tanks

    Blah.. Ill try and figure something out to make you feel better. My one concern is that their will have to be alot of air flow to compensate for the volume lost.. ie. Going from from dual 2.25" pipes to a single 3".

    Im going to do a little more research before i pull the trigger as well.

    Re: 2->1 Fmic?

    you have one single 3 inch piping going into the throttle body, as opposed to TWO 2.25/2.5" pipes...

    the volume lost isn't too insane.

    Re: 2->1 Fmic?

    sigh.... yes but you cant leave out the little guys.. lol

    My concern is the pressure drop in that bend at the throttle body, but i dont think to much would be lost by it..

    Maybe ill do it and do some logs, for fun

    Re: 2->1 Fmic?

    i personally think that the pressure loss will be small thing compared to the turbulence your getting RID of when the 2 boost charges meet at the tb which means better, smoother airflow ...... but hey thats just my 2 cents lol

    10d f above ambient the after WOT on my home from yonkers the other night (ty mark for hooking it me up with some goodies), it was 54, IAT 64-68. I did notice a difference in response, it was better and the car pulls harder. Not to mention the added timing you can run on top of what ever tune you have. Im confident that I can get the IAT down even more with some heat wrap on the charge pipe going to the tb. The 90 right before the tb isn't at all when you consider what hyper described.

    Have any pics with the bumper on? Were you able to keep foglights? Is it easier to route the outlet around the passengers side or just arbitrary?

    This is when that fmic was on my car. I removed my foglights from my first fmic install and never tried to put em back.

    On the driver side with the 2in 1out setup the foglight will fit with ease but on the passenger side with the charge pipe you might have issues, especially because of the size of the charge pipe and the bend it has to make.

    You will need to hack the ever-loving shit out of your bumper to fit a 3.5'' intercooler behind there. The ones on Ebay are 3'' still require lots of hacking.

    JMT isn't using that 3.5'' treadstone...it will never fit without serious hacking. He has:
