    245x10 and 255x10

    02 - Early 04' 1.8T's use 245x10, Late 04' - 05' 1.8T's use 255x10

    All 3.0's use 255x10

    No problemo!

And for those curious, you can call the dealer with your VIN number and they will tell you what size rear rotors your car came with!

    Actually, I think its 245x10 or 255x12

    8E0 615 601 P = 245x10mm
    8E0 615 601 D = 255x12mm

Adam, both sizes came with the 1.8T so you can use some of those you already bought but make sure they check what they had on stock.

Re: 1.8t vs. 3.0...REAR rotors differ?

ok now this is more confusing...

    3.0 being 255x12mm?

id imagine the same years apply to the 1.8t options that shawn mentioned? just his dimensions were off?

"D" came on all 3.0's and later 1.8T's

I could be wrong as well...

According to the latest ETKA, 245mm rotors are 10mm thick, and 255mm rotors are 12mm thick.

I'm swapping mine out in a week or two so I can measure for you, but may not be soon enough for you. I don't have a caliper, otherwise obviously I'd measure them on the car.

I know that, but as diagnosticator said above, the 255's are listed in the ETKA as being 12mm.

Re: 1.8t vs. 3.0...REAR rotors differ?

So just to confirm, since I have a 1.8T ('05 USP) and am going to do the 3.0 brake upgrade:

My rears are the exact same (b/c I have an '05) as the 3.0, and I only need to do the carriers and rotors on the fronts. Is that correct?
    Current:

For the rears, yes they should be the same. You can pull off you wheel and check the part numbers with the ones I posted above to make sure.

I certainly can, however since an impromptu wheel removal during the middle of a work-week is somewhat anti-fun, I figured I'd ask and perhaps save myself the trouble.

I put an email into Craig at GenuineAudiParts, hopefully he can confirm. I'll post his reply when I hear back...

It would be nice if my 3.0 brake upgrade (if you can call it an "upgrade") needed 50% fewer parts!
