I cant get lemi to recognize my ecu. I tried pulling the instrument cluster fuse (as recommended) and that didn't help. It didn't throw the airbag cel (like another thing I was told it may do), but it kept giving me an error that said I had "timed out 0x55....", said it could not make a connection. I tried vagcom and it worked fine so I know it wasn't the cable...

    what am I missing?

    pull wise wtf?

    1. plug in old ass laptop with serial port
    2. turn on car to run position
    3. run lemmiwinks.

use the other software unitronics for usb laptops.

no need to pull any fuses mate. fookin' simple program.

then I guess that answers it...cant use Lemmiwink with usb?

There's a huge thread on Vortex about using the program and some people said that fuse had to be yarded out....I'd never used it so I couldn't argue.

I'll try the unitronics and see how that works. Thanks

You can use Lemmiwinks with a USB to serial adapter. I have a $14.99 ebay cable that works perfectly fine.

    Re: lemiwinks issue

Some USB->RS232 adapters work for some things, and some don't. I recently got a new laptop that didn't have any serial ports, so I picked up a USB adapter for it (Best Buy I think it was). It works with the STK500(AVR microcontroller devboard), but not with VAG-COM, Lemmiwinks, or the other AVR programmer(basic serial bitbang type).

I took the recommendation from Ross-Techs site and picked up a Quatech PCMCIA RS232 card, and it works flawlessly with anything I plug it into. Great card, even if a bit pricey.
