    Lowering Springs

I want to buy lowering Springs, but don't know what I need. I was thinking H&R or Eibach. Also how low should I go? I don't want it slammed, but want it to look good. I also be putting on a pair of 19" Wheels; looking at HRE, DPE, or O.Z.

    Hope this helps.

If you are going to spend money on nice wheels, skip the springs and get coilovers. Springs alone will ruin the ride.

aha dude we're twins. i'm thinking the same exact thing. i have the H&R sport lowering springs but have not installed them. I'm thinking I need to get shocks to pair them with (koni or something) because i've heard just springs will kill the stock shocks.

Agreed......based on the brands of wheels that you're looking at I wouldn't skimp and do just springs.........it seems as though you appreciate quality...... I'd go with COs and do it right if you're gonna do it at all.

While I definitely agree that springs alone are a big no no, I definitely think Teins are an incredibly reputable company that make a great product for a GREAT price. I feel that the reason they are inexpensive relative to other products is because they are trying to make the move from the JDM market to the Euro market. They are HIGHLY revered in the asian tuning scene. However, I do understand that some prefer to rock german products only on their german automobiles. Just my two cents

    Re: Lowering Springs

well after driving my car that is on the tein springs and driving another s4 on the h&r springs, i have to say the ride is very similar, so for one to question tein and their products is very questionable to me. let me guess ur on bilstein or kw's rite?

I've got H&R with Koni. Ride height is perfect for me, not too low but definately looks aggressive. Also I have to agree with others here, do not go with springs only.

    Re: Lowering Springs

Are the latest pics in your poster with the suspension. I'm interested in a combo like this too. Did you get it from TireRack? Are you experiencing any rubbing under hard cornering with the 19's. Did you go with adjustable Koni's and how many turns if you did?

    TIA

    Re: Lowering Springs

I've got a set of H&R Lowering Springs if you're interested... sorry for the shameless self plug . Not to bash the product I'm trying to sell but personally, I don't like springs alone, I've done springs on all of my cars and on the S4 I've decided I'm waiting to do coilovers. Clearly the stock shocks aren't made to work with the lowered springs, so the ride isn't exactly perfect, but if you're just looking for a drop and not any hardcore performance gains (it doesn't really hurt performance... I don't think), then springs are fine for you. You just need to be more careful over speed bumps and out of driveways and what not with springs than you'd have to be with coilovers. And to answer your question I doubt it'll make much difference what company you go with... It's pretty straightforward and I have a pretty good feeling they'll all work equally well (but I can't say from experience so take that with a grain of salt).
