another tire size thread

hey guys. i have a iForge emotion wheel 18x8 with an offset of 26 on a b5 s4. obviously the offset isnt prime for the car but im making them work. right now i have a general tire exclaim uhp tire 225/40/18. it barely rubs on the outside of the sidewall. i dont have adjustable suspension in the front so im considering the Kumho Ecsta SPT in a 215/40/18. do you think it'd clear enough on the sidewall to not rub?

The 215/40 is only 0.3" smaller in total diameter and not much narrower, so tough to say if that is enough of a change.

well the way i figure, the tire i have now is made to fit up to a 9 inch wide wheel and the kuhmo fits only up to 8. does the general tire i have now have a more pushed out sidewall than the kuhmo to compensate?
