HELP! Car is clunking, when coming to a stop

I have a 2000 S4 and about two days ago, as I was coming to a stop, I hear a soft clunk and I could feel it in my feet. I know for sure that it is coming from the right side of the car. My dad owns a shop so I put it on the hoist, and absolutely everything was tight. Today it is getting louder and I feel it more and more. Any ideas??

Control arms and tie rod ends.. they like to go in our cars :)
mine are getting fixed this week.

I had the same problem i think. Did you ever hear it upon accelleration? mine was when i applied the brakes and then when i would accellerate it would "pop" back into place... i think it was cause by forward momentum of transmission.... maybe bad tranny mounts? but i installed the DTS and the problem went away, trannymounts will be replaced when stage 3 occurs!

the only thing we really noticed is that the pads need to be changed soon. I feel the clunking coming from the middle of the car now and it is definately getting worse. I will try checking again tomorrow. thanks for the suggestions. I never have the problem when accelerating. if i downshift to a stop, nothing happens. only when i brake
