Need to get lugbolt caps of and I don't have a tool!

That pretty much sums it up. I tried to change a tire today and found out the little tool to remove the cap wasn't in the box? Anybody got a secret to removing the cap to get to the bolts?

PROBLEM FIXED: I used a coat hanger bent like a pair of tweezers.

If you have a 4 way tire iron you can use one of the sides to get them off. That is how the guy from Audi Roadside did mine.

Tried the center cap tool which kind of worked.
Macgyvered it with a bent coathanger. Which was much better and worked without much fuss.

A good reminder for everyone to check their toolkit and make sure they have the little tool to save some frustration.....

Re: HELP: Need to get lugbolt caps of and I don't have a tool!

First, I would try bending the tips of a paperclip as mentioned above. Worst comes to worst I would just drill through the center of it and pick it out or use a needle nose pliers.

I have two of those tools though, one in my car always and one in my garage. Buy another one!
    Ignorance is bliss.

Re: Need to get lugbolt caps of and I don't have a tool!

Spacers are on, just before the sprinkles started. 8F / 10R. for some reason it looks like the fronts pushed out further than the back. The H&R's were super nice. The generic 8mm, not so much, but they work to test fit and see where I'm at.

I'm thinking of going to 10F /12.5R. I want to get out and get a good look at it tomorrow. If I go this route, am I just being stupid to drive around a bit. (~90mi) with the 10mm on the LF & LR and the 8mm on the RF, nothing on the RR?
