What could this gauge be in the engine bay??????

Im thinking about buying this car and fixing it. From what i can see it looks like it has some extensive mods. I havent had a chance to look at it person yet but what could this guage be in the top left side of the engine bay. And how could you tell by looking at a car if it is stage 3. Is there any way short of getting the numbers off the turbos? An insurance company owns it but it has a clear title.(click on picture to enlarge) Thanks in advance.

Yea i have to take a look at it in person and hear it run before i make my decision on whether i am going to try to buy it. I think i could get it for around 3k though. So it might be worth it.

Rebuild block(forged rods)/heads: $2000
Rebuild Trans: $2000 (labor/jhm kit)
Clutch: $700
Turbos/Inlets/Hardware: $2700
Install: $2000
Used fueling: $1500
Non-salvaged S4: $3000
----
Rock-ass solid Stage 3 = under $14,000 (i mean.. everything rebuilt/fresh!)

You could probably get the labor/parts even cheaper... if the subframe is solid it's a no-brainer.

for $3000!? good deal,i'd jump on that in a second! who cares if its been beat,samcos ($400),coilovers ($1k+ depending),bipipe($350),rs4 grill($100). you could make money off it or build it for cheap cheap!

It looks like it is at an auction lot, and if owned by an insurance company I dont see how they can keep it from getting a salvage title. it may have a clean title now, but you may have problems getting the state that you register it to want to stamp prior salvage on the title. Just something to think about. But at same time, My audi has a prior salvage title and I bought it that way, it doesnt bother me at all. But just thought I'd throw that out there.

Like you said it'd be good to check it over good, looks like its been lowered too!

LOL, true i didnt even realize that.

But no i decided to just sell my S and start over fresh. Sold it for 3,850 as is. Im going to buy another before next week.

true true.. but you forgot about headlights and a front bumber and whatever else is messed up on the front end
