    Alternator issues

My car would not start, so I got a jump and after about 5 mins my car lights would dim and my engine would start to die even if I tried to bring up the revs. So is my alternator toast? I have a 99.5 1.8T quattro tiptronic what is my stock alternator and what can I upgrade into? Im currently running about 2000w rms with 3 tv's and my turbo timer.

    Re: Alternator issues

turbo timer doesnt really matter but tht stereo killed your alty. 2000wrms is probably pulling close to 100-120 amps on music, i would hate to see what it would pull on a tone. You could buy another oem one but it would probably die again or buy an HO one from Dominic Iraggiwho makes some serious ones. 100amps at idle/ 200 amps max

    Running only on Amsoil fluids.
