1. as for requesting bumpers go, ur insurance will only pay for an OEM bumper unless they will give u a check and u can add more money to it depends how they do things.

An insurance assessor will more than likely default a claim because your tail lights are technically illegal ! (Sorry dude, but that's the way it is, Tinted tail lights really arn't a wise mod....) 1) Yes you can request money for the rear bumper and installation cost so you can "get it done elsewhere" and have them fix everything else.
2) You should have called the police to report it. The damage is a lot more than 500 dollars...ust because your bumper doesn't that damaged, I guarantee you that the true bumper that protects your from shattering will need to be replaced along with smoothing out and refinishing your bumper cover and replacing your exhaust.

Since it wasn't your fault, you don't have to pay but the other lady does. Luckily for you this was clearly the fault of the other person unless you switched lanes abruptly cutting the lady off and braked hard.

You can request it. You may not get it. They will replace only what was existing prior to the accident. If you want something more expensive or custom you can usually pay the difference if you want something special. Each shop is different.

Yes, you should ALWAYS have the police there. If it is a minor accident and you don't want to call them make sure you take picture of the cars in the spots they stopped and all of the visible damage to both cars.

Castrol 0-40w Synthetic. Is your car not under factory maintenance? Fill it ASAP. Never run low on oil. EVER. Drive smooth and easy.

Can't help you there. Have your insurance company recommend one. That will make the process much easier and you'll be covered if there is a problem.

They might be. It depends how smart that lady or how her insurance adjuster is. If you can remove the tint before taking it into the shop that is in your best interest. If not you're taking your chances.

luckily in this case, a rear-end collision makes it easy to pin the fault on the driver behind you, but if you are ever in an accident again, you MUST call the cops. if you are ever in an accident where the fault is not so obvious, having the cops come to the scene and you explaining what happened, can make it a lot easier for you.

chances are, if the other driver isn't pegged with obvious guilt at the scene, they'll act retarded when you try to get them later. and it could be hard for you to collect any damages at all.

Just dial 911. If you're on a cell, they'll ask what town you want to be connected to. Just tell the dispatcher where you are and that you got into an accident with no injury. If you leave out the no injury part you'll get at the very least 2 cops, a fire truck, and an ambulance. Its also a good idea to call the cops, not just for the repair of your car, but if the lady claims that you somehow caused her paralysis in 5 years, you may be in some trouble.

I swirved to dodge it and it ran right infront of my car and BAM! and There goes half my bumper and the that poor raccoon's life =(

Sorry to hear that man... but it's an easy fix.

1. Your bumper is easily repairable. Might take some filler, but it's mainly just a sand down and respray. I quote $100-$150 for a picture perfect job from a good shop.

2. You should always call the cops right away before you even get out of the car. Fuck the person who hit you, what do you care if they get arrested? They damaged your car and you're following procedure. It's not your problem... plus, there is potential you will get no/false info or they won't pay. Always get a police report so you can make the proper claim through your insurance and things will go nice and smooth for you.

1. OEM only. If you know the shop, they can probably hook you up though.
2. Yes. Always document accidents. When you file a claim without a police report, then that old hag can go "noooo... I wasn't on the freeway that day, I was at home... my bumper's like that because I got hit by a bunch of spoiled little Asian skateboarders in my neighborhood...."

Insurance companies can use that against you and if they do, you have to appeal and prove to them that tinted tails give off at least 80% of OEM light. I'm using 80% because that's what VA check for auto lighting for state inspections. Of course we're in CA, so .

Firstly, that's not an accident...it's a little bump. Secondly, calling the cops for a little bump may not be necessary but always, always get a witness and take pics with your phone. Thirdly, don't take the tint off. Find someone from AZ local to you to swap tails with you for a day while the adjuster inspects your car. Lastly, I wish this had happened to me...that's a cheap way to get a DTM upgrade (yes, it's around the same cost, which is all insurance co's care about so you should have no prob).
