Re: almost done with boost gauge and FFFFF it up damnit please helpppp

Woah, that sounds like fun. Can you rig up another piece for it instead of taking apart your dash? I'm having trouble remembering which piece that is

lol you bastard thats all the help i get? i took out the cabin filter to see if it got down there....now i realized it didnt get far and am trying to fish it out with whatever i can find

.....im trying to fucking bubble gum it out....with 5 sticks of wrigleys and a wire

EDIT: so its lost forever down there wherever it went....im really upset, I've done a lot of diy maintenance and stuff on my car and cant even finish a boost gauge install cause of that stupid piece lol.

How much damage is it gonna cause being caught up in the pipes like that??

Did you try the abortion tool? I mean that long spring thing with the claw that comes out on the end. I love that thing. Saved my ass too many times.

I would figure you would have to remove the lower dash and see where the vents go.

^^^^I wish i had one but it was too late to go get one. It could have worked but now it's somewhere down there forever. As long as it doesn't make a noise or f something up i'm fine.

I found out those pieces are called "barb" fittings. hopefully home depot carries them lol.

Re: so how do you get a tiny piece out after it fell down the center vent???

Shop vac. Run the flexible hose down the vent. If you want to separate your catch then put a piece of screen, pantyhose/stocking, dryer sheet, whatever between the hose joints.

You could also close the other vents and try to blow it out. Set it on the center vents only, LO temp to close the heater core flapper, and recirc before cranking up the fan. I blew a dime out of the defroster on my old car that way.
