New Wheels!

It's time for new tires for me so I figured I would go big or go home and get a wheel and tire package while I'm at it. I am deciding between Velocity V714s and RS4 reps. I want gunmetal so I would have to find them used now, since they only offer hyperblack, I may like the black though. I know that the reps are played out here but I still think they are gorgeous wheels and I am yet to see an A4 in person with them on it, so I dont care. I need some help/feedback from the community on which to choose or other options. Price range is around 1k give or take some hundreds.

Unfortunatly those two statements cannot be used together when it comes to wheels unless i am misunderstanding you (which is probably the case).

I think you definitely missed it. OP was saying go big meaning buying wheels and tires as oppose to just tires. Also I think the 1k mark was total, not per wheel.

I don't quite get how you can suggest Champions or HREs to a guy interested in VMR wheels. The Champions or HREs cost about 4-5 times as much per wheel than the VMRs.

Reps are only played out on the forum. As long as you don't see them on alot of cars in your local area...they are still going to look good and unique.

Thanks for the replys. I meant 1k for the package and going big means getting wheels along with the tires as was stated. I would like to be original and everything but as a poor college kid I don't have too many options. So I have narrowed it down to these 2.

Maya STMs are my favorite wheels hands down, but they are around 3k or so just for the wheels themselves if I recall correctly. Most rims look good on this color blue which helps. So keep the ideas coming, I am welcome to criticism and other options.

Thanks man, I saw that thread yesterday (when one of every color popped up haha). And it looks like those are hartmann reps in 17s or so, cause they look tiny. Kinda turned me away from the RS4 reps a little unfortunately. But your car looks so sexy with them. Which is why it is tough to decide

It is just that my favorite cars on the forum (rx_rep, tinman, gregs) all run RS4 reps with an OEM+ look which is exactly what I am going for. So basically I am looking for clean OE looking wheels. (within my price range) we'll raise it too $1,500 maximum.

Not everyone can afford baller HRE's or DPE wheels that cost 5 or 6 grand a set. I really love the V714's, they are one of my favorite wheels and i think they would look great on the car. They look amazing and do the job for a quarter of the price. I dont see the point in driving around 6k wheels on the street and risk bending them day in and day out and mourning about replacing one that is bent. The V714's are only $899 a set plus shipping. Yes they do look cheap hahaha. I have a friend who HAD these wheels on her car (thank god) and everyone who knew a thing about cars was on her to get rid of them because they just don't look high quality. to cast one-piece "3-pc" wheels.

For the OP, if you want the oem look, why not look into the S4 Avus wheels?

I wouldnt spend money on them. They look good as do the b5 rs4 b6usp wheels. But the only stock wheels I would purchase would be rs4 reps.

I was just kidding with ya this morning about the $1k wheels. The VMR's are great wheels and the guys there are excellent to deal with. I actually have a set of 18" VMR B7RS4 reps that i use as my winter wheels. They are very strong and sure can take a beating. I went with the gunmetal finish and it still looks excellent after 2 long hard winters of abuse.

I recently put these on my A4. Konig Next's. They're forged one piece, 19", about 22lbs per wheel and only $214 a wheel from Discount Tire. With tires, mounting, hardware..the whole thing, it was about $1400, and very easy to clean ;)

So what you are saying is because i bought some 714's I do not know anything about cars. the audi i bought came with the worst looking gangsta rims i have ever seen. I bought these as a replacment and they cost me nothing. Look in my sig my honda was built from the ground up by me. I choose to not spend 5k on some rims. I have a 19month old daughter i would much rather spend most of my money on and the house i just bought. To each his own.

OP. Naw man i dont mind you used some pictures over the internet. I would say get what you want/can afford. My car will look 100x better over the next two weeks. I am placing my order for some konig coilovers tonight.

Ok finally downloaded paint.net's version of paint and did a few chops. Now I know we all say that RS4 Reps are so played out, but for around 1,000 bucks, nothing else will look this good!!!

I think the RS4 reps look the best on your color car. Like someone else stated those wheels are only played out on the forums but when I see them on Audi's in person they look great. Go for it

Anyone who has wheels/tires under 1,500 total to give me some insight or other options to look into. Wow. What the fuck is your problem? Someone comes on here asking for an opinion and you just need to step right up on your soapbox and preach negativity. Don't make the rest of us look bad.

Plenty of wheels are cast and just cause they are not actually "3 pc" doesn't mean there's some law that they have to not look like it. Cast wheels make sense for many people who live with potholes. As much as I would like a set of iforge, DPE or similar and can afford them, I just can't afford to replace one or two every year. Neither can many other people. Have some sense.

To the original poster, just find what you like and look around til you get a good deal. My favorite budget wheels are the VMR RS4 reps and the 6-spoke Ruff Racing wheels...both at a good price. Don't let social degenerates' dictate how you live your life...I hate that shit.

thanks, trust me guys im not going to care if people bash on wheels if i like them. So dont worry about them, i asked for their opinion and they gave it. Its not really that big of a deal and it certainly wouldnt stop me from getting wheels i like. But i respect their opinion, i just would like to hear some more!

Thanks guys for all the positive reinforcement with the RS4 reps. I guess no one can give me some other wheels so ill be sticking with the gunmetal reps as of now. Going home in a week so I will make the final decision then. Thanks again everyone!
