    Driveshaft stabilizer

When i bought my car I was told that it needed a drive shaft stabilizer. I can feel a vibration when I am in low RPM's in first gear. Anyone know where to get a replacement one and where its even located on the car? LOL

Am I looking for the wrong thing? I found a driveshaft support, but it doesn't seem like its a stock part, they said they make them in-house.

Thats the one. Its not a stock part because it comes with the driveshaft assembly. Audi doesn't supply them separate. Blauparts has this bushing as well, but its been out of stock everytime I looked.

To see the part under your car, you'll have to remove your catback and drop the heatshield. Do a little searching on AW and you can find the diagram from the Audi parts catalog somebody posted.

    Re: Driveshaft stabilizer

Kind of. I just ordered a whole rebuilt driveshaft, cause one of the CV's was broken, and that bushing was worn but still usable. Was a whole lot easier than rebuilding a driveshaft myself. I guess you would have to disconnect the u-joint in the middle of the assembly, take off the old bushing, put the new one on and then reconnect that u-joint. Of course, this is with the driveshaft out of the car.

Sure thing bro! And you need to tell Huri that he should get me a better deal than 180 bucks for that bushing and get some in stock!

Crap got any idea how to do it with the driveshaft still on the car? But in other words, it probably not going to be a very easy task?

    Re: Driveshaft stabilizer

I think you can disconnect the u-joint with the CV's still attached. But you should probably support them somehow (jackstands) while you replace the bushing. Don't let them turn either.
