B8 Designed to Steal BMW's Business?

My memory was workin' overtime at work today, and I randomly remembered an article I read in Automobile magazine (I believe) that made me think.....

The article was outlining how much Audi is kicking the ass of BMW and Mercedes in net profit over the past years, and after seeing the B8 A4 on the front page of the forum, something dawned on me.

While I thought this on my own, I notice TONS of people slamming the design of the B8 A4 due to its similarities to BMW 3-series'. Mainly, the back end and almost overly-aggressive stance just scream Bimmer.

So, do you think Audi did this on purpose to draw the eyes of BMW-privvy people away from their ultimate driving machines and to Audi? A compelling thought!

Well, duh Audi is always trying to steal away sales from BMW/Merc/Acura/Infiniti/etc. They have a long way to go here in the US though; BMW sells more 3-series sedans here than Audi sells cars
