    decisions, decisions.....exhaust

I am in need of some experienced advice. Im ready to get an exhaust for my s4 and am looking at a few different directions. I see that the vibrant exhaust is pretty popular but it just seems a little to stealthy for me. Another choice is the borla system. I have not heard much on this one but it is around the same price range. Im leaning towards the vibrant exhaust, but i would like some advice, opinions etc. im looking for the best sound quality, but performance comes first. Please any suggestion or advice will be great. thanks a lot everyone.

    Re: decisions, decisions.....exhaust

like i tell everyone... autospeed (more expensive option) or go to a shop and get a custom one made (very cheap and you can have it made however you want) i've had both and the quality on the ASP is amazing and sounds b-e-a-utiful,the custom is just dual 2.5" straight pipe so its LOUD and i love that.

my car with piggies (no cats) and asp tru dual cat back. sorry for quality http://youtube.com/watch?v=XpQNZq7V7ac

    Re: decisions, decisions.....exhaust

I went the custom route with Labree DP's and straight 3". It's loud as hell but not my DD, so I don't mind waking up the neighbors on the weekends.

I'd suggest going custom as opposed to OTS, but that's just me.

    Re: decisions, decisions.....exhaust

Well i have been told by several people to go with a custom 3inch pipe and a ots muffler to top it. but my biggest concern is my budget. Can anyone share what they came out of pocket for a custom setup?

    Re: decisions, decisions.....exhaust

well you figure 2 downpipes, each downpipe into its own pipe out the back, thus having less restriction. when going to a single pipe,it has to merge,so theres a little restriction...my theory anyway, why i went with dual. and let me tell you,it is LOUD

I have ASP wiht Piggies and love it. If you want it even louder, you can take off the muffler on the back for a while like i am right now, and it's hella sick sounding... If you're on Facebook i ahve a video of it, it's on the Audizine group and the biturbo s4 group. If you want i;ll upload to youtube.

The best thing to do is try to find people local to you with different cat-backs to listen to, do keep in mind that the volume will also vary with stages.

Well, based on what you've said here, I'd say a Milltek cat-back would work just for you... You can go quite with the 3" single (comparable to Vibrant, maybe a "tish" louder), or a little louder with the Super Dual; your choice. I opted for the latter, although it was a bit pricey, but I have been nothing but pleased so far. It produces a very smooth, "tuned" sound: quite around town, and slighly aggressive when it needs to be. Obviously there are other systems if you want to go louder, but I think Milltek is somewhere between Vibrant and Borla (leaning towards Borla).

You definitely won't be dissapointed if you're looking for something civilized; Milltek knows Audis. Here are some clips to give you an idea:

edit: that first clip is actually pretty new, but gives a great example of what it sounds like from the outside when its at WOT (minus the tire screeching ).

Buy an autochrome/SSAC/XS Power exhaust depending if you buy it on ebay. Its an exact copy of the AWE TWIN 2 with full downpipes. Its like 450 now for a 3000 dollar exhaust. Its fits perfect, sounds amazing. Only needed to have downpipe flanges rewelded which was 35 bucks. Good luck on your choice. You dont have to spend a lot to get a lot.

don't make this such a hard decisions....

If you're a baller and have 3k to drop, go fast intentions full system
If you want to be conservative, ASP FTW w/ either their 3" DPS, WMS widemouth DPs or Fast Intentions DPs w/ dumps (ie Labree split DPs)
